[The Big Fat Tutorial]

Possibly the greatest tut on newgrounds

This is an EXTREMELY straightforward tutorial, using basic techniques to create advanced appearing settings. It is an incredible blend of learning and fun, and the cartoon element adds enjoyability and the feeling that flash isnt a complicated program, but simply what you can make of it.
This is a very good tutorial, i recommend anyone who hasn't already done so by now to take a quick look. It really does explain how to make amazing backgrounds and miscellanious things. My congratulations to the author, the first flash ive seen him produce here, but i could have missed a few, and it is incredible. We need more tutorials like this for the newbies!

This is the first one I put a lot of work into, really. There were 3 others but I was mostly testing to see if people got my sense of humor - and my sense of scares. My batting average is probably permanently scarred by the first two. The third I'm proud of.

In any case, I intentionally spent time to make it as straightforward as possible. No one word explanations, and no lack of reasons why something works. I even slipped in suggestions here and there on how to make use of the different processes.

Virtually all the peripheral stuff was added to help people with short attention spans. One with ADD will tend to turn it off if they get bored. I slipped in as many things as I could think of (or, well, as many as I thought I needed) for them to click on when they get bored somewhere. Or something that jumps out and catches their attention to keep them involved.

Most of it came out as a stream of thought or was born out of the wording I used (the airplane came out of the 'layer planes' description).

The credits were just fun to make.

Anyway, I hope it gets used. 25k views means a lot of people have seen it (and probably reopened it to view something again), but I hope a lot more see it and find ways to make use of it.

not what i would have expected

from joecartoon. this was simply.. Boring. we had 3 buttons, backwards, forward, and the middle one. It was just boring. the content was not too bad, but it got old very fast. it took a long time to actually get through it. all it is is a flash animation with chapter control. sorry, but i dont like this very much.

Although i must say i did enjoy microwaving the hamster

i liked that it was very good. i hope you give credit for where you got the sounds. i recongize tha background from the maddness interactive game and 2 of the sword sounds were from sinjid battle arena. nice game altogether though

Excellent

I really enjoyed this game. The graphics werent amazing, but in their own unique little way, they were as good as they should be for the type of game you made. It reminded me of a few of the classic windows games, like Chips Challenge. It was a brilliant game nonetheless, it had a retro arcade feel to it; 'Destroy the purple thing with your red triangle'. I really like things like that. It involved a lot of lateral thinking, instead of just clicking on a face to blow their brains out like most games here are. The sounds is also another thing i like, i liked the backround loop, because it is one of the very few loops that drives me batty after 3 minutes. If i were to judge though, id say this was one of the best games on newgrounds because of the fact that it took about 40 minutes to do, and not a single second was boring, and i didnt feel like i was repeating something, and i didnt get lost either. Congrats on abrilliant game, i look forward to seeing more from you.

its a brilliant game, probably the most professional and mature game on NG imo. Eitherway, it says parts isnt a word incase you didnt know. Just brinnging that to your attention. unless im mistaken, parts is a word, right?

haha that was a great game, it only took me one try to kill the gel skeleton in beginner, lol, and i didnt bother readin the tut cuz i was to excited to bother, and i wanted 2 get start asap, lol. Good game
